"Issues such as environment, crime, terrorism,
and corruption carry no passports. They are beyond
the power of any single nation to address on its
own. Progress in the years ahead will require
unprecedented levels of cooperation and collaboration
among peoples of different cultures..."
United Nations Secretary-General
Kofi Annan in a message to the 9th International
Anti-Corruption Conference in Durban, 1999. |
 |
"True
democracies are glass houses
open to public scrutiny, transparent and reliable,
therefore democratic governments need citizens'
participation in national and international
non-governmental organisations to carry out
proper monitoring of the conduct of government
affairs. Combatting corruption requires the
collaboration of all groups committed to the
ethical exercise of government."
Vicente Fox Quesada,
President of Mexico, at the 10th International
Anti-Corruption Conference, Prague, 2001 |
 |

 |
