| Anti-corruption
and transparency is an important global issue. Yet,
for the public, it is still a difficult topic to understand.
Art is the best way to illustrate such complex messages.
Through art, people can simultaneously understand
and feel the theme of anti-corruption. Although a
lecture on anti-corruption can provide people with
good knowledge and understanding, what moves people
for action can be a photograph or a short film.
Parallel with the 11th IACC, Transparency International
is preparing various art programs for both participants
and residents of Seoul to enjoy.
'Art for Transparency' will be composed of the following
parts:
Performance Art
There is no language barrier in performance art. A
performance can express a complicated issue in a significant
way and in limited time. TI-Korea is planning to invite
performance artists to perform anti-corruption acts
outside the COEX Convention Center so that the public,
as well as the 11th IACC participants, can learn more
about the fight against corruption
Anti-Corruption Comics
In comic art, a complex topic such as anti-corruption
can be transformed into a relatively simple one. Comics
are also a good educational tool since it is a way
for people to get meaningful lessons while having
fun. In many countries, people have used comics to
teach anti-corruption. TI-Korea will bring together
a collection of comics on anti-corruption from all
over the world, and exhibit them.
Photography competition
TI-Korea will invite the public to join a contest
for best photography on the theme of anti-corruption.
Through the contest, we aim to gather photographs
with social messages related to the corruption problem.
This contest also provides the competing participants
with a good chance to think about the corruption problem.
The submitted photographs will also be exhibited for
the public¡¯s enjoyment.
