Around 90 young scholars and activists
from across the globe will meet in Seoul, Republic
of Korea, on the occasion of the 11th IACC. The
young people will participate in the IACC sessions,
discuss the role they can play in the fight against
corruption and draft recommendations in the style
of a model United Nations assembly. By involving
well-qualified young people in discussions on
anti-corruption and governance, and by highlighting
the important role they can play in their countries
and in global networks alike, the Forum can serve
to inject fresh ideas into the anti-corruption
movement and help guarantee its future.
The Forum will seek to raise awareness among
youth about the character and impact of corruption,
a global problem affecting them in the present
and threatening their future. Assembling an
international group of committed young people
at the IACC will facilitate contacts between
them and create the opportunity for establishing
a permanent international Youth Network Against
Corruption. Such a network would provide a framework
for exchange and collaboration among the next
generation of corruption fighters and would
enrich international work on anti-corruption
strategies.
The participants will be recommended by Transparency
International¡¯s National Chapters around the
world and selected on the basis of their qualifications.
While the majority will be college and university
students, the Forum will be open to all school
students, graduates and young professionals
who have a particular interest in transparency
and experience in civil society work.
The Youth Forum is being organised by four
partners, Transparency International, TI-Korea,
the Lebanese Transparency Association and the
Institute for Cultural Diplomacy. An Internet
portal (to be launched soon) will inform about
the project in more detail.

Youth Forum Project Manager at the TI-Secretariat,
