From the story of a high-level executive who blew
the whistle on a US tobacco giant to the struggle
against corruption by citizens in rural India, the
theme of corruption has inspired film directors from
around the globe. The world¡¯s first-ever Anti-Corruption
Film Festival was held in conjunction with the 10th
IACC, on 6-8 October 2001, in Prague, Czech Republic.
The festival, organized by Transparency International,
ran 17 feature films, documentaries, and student films
from around the globe that examined the issue of corruption
and the devastating effect it has on the world we
live in.
Transparency International's second film festival,
Film for Transparency II, will run alongside the 11th
IACC (25-28 May 2003) and will include an international
competition of films and videos. Film is a key medium
for stimulating awareness, debate and action and through
this festival TI hopes to encourage filmmakers to
help promote greater transparency in governance. For
